FIT Kit: Colon Cancer Screening

Routine screening is the best way to protect yourself against cancer.

According to the CDC, when cells in the body grow out of control, this can lead to cancer. When cancer starts in the colon or rectum, it’s called colorectal cancer, which is also sometimes called colon cancer.

Colorectal cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States.

Most people should begin screening for colon cancer after turning 45. There are several types of tests that can screen for colorectal cancer, and some tests can be done at home. A fecal immunochemical test or FIT test is an at-home test that checks for blood in stool. The kit can help find polyps and cancer before they become a problem if done every year.
