Campgrounds

RVs at a campground

Specialists from the Environmental Health division license and inspect permanent and temporary campgrounds in Laramie County, following the regulations outlined below.

Inspections help ensure the health and safety of visitors and residents, while also protecting the environment for future generations to enjoy.

During an inspection, we’ll look at a campground’s overall sanitation and safety, including potable water supplies; proper sewage, wastewater, and refuse disposal; spacing between units; restroom and shower facilities; and sanitation.

The Cheyenne Laramie County Public Health Campground Program also provides:

  • Technical assistance on the construction, operation, maintenance, and evaluation of campgrounds
  • Review and approval of plans that have been designed to meet all of the requirements found within the regulations
  • Inspections to ensure that the campground is constructed per the rules and approved plans
  • Annual inspections of permanent campgrounds to assess the campgrounds compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Complaint inspections, as requested
