What Exactly Is WIC?

WIC is a Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children that focuses on the link between good nutrition and good health.

Who Can WIC Help?

  • Families with children up to age 5
  • Pregnant women
  • Infants
  • New moms

As A WIC Participant, You’ll Receive:

  •  FREE healthy food (fresh produce, yogurt, cheese, eggs, whole grains, and much more!)
  •  Breastfeeding Support
  •  Nutrition Coaching
  •  Recipes & Shopping tips
  •  Nutrition & Breastfeeding classes
  •  Growth milestones for your well being
  •  Referrals to other community programs

To Qualify You Must…

  • Live in Wyoming, and
  •  A pregnant woman, or
  •  Breastfeeding a baby, or
  •  A woman who was pregnant in the last 6 months, or
  •  An infant or a child under 5 years old, and that includes foster children

Meet Income Guidelines…

If you are currently enrolled in some programs such as Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF then you automatically meet income for WIC.

HOW TO APPLY FOR WIC

To apply for WIC, set up an appointment with your local WIC program.

WIC CAN SAVE YOUR FAMILY MONEY.

If you are on WIC for an entire year, this how much you could save:

Formula-fed infants $2600

Pregnant women $1460

Children 1-5 years old $1275

Exclusively breastfeeding women can save $2100

Breastfeeding infants $2300

Postpartum Women (not breastfeeding) $1240
